James A. McGlynn, Esq.                    

James began his legal career as a criminal prosecutor, gaining significant litigation and trial experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Staten Island (Richmond County), New York City.  It was as a prosecutor that his courtroom skills were nurtured.  It was also during this time that he obtained the unparalleled experiences of dealing with the criminally accused and victims that has prepared him for any legal situation.   

Upon leaving the prosecutor's office James joined a high volume civil defense firm. Concentrating in the area of personal injury defense he tried numerous cases in city venues.

Expanding his exposure and experience, James then practiced with a small civil defense firm.  He litigated a significant caseload in a variety of areas including personal injury, labor law, auto liability, premises liability, and commercial matters.  He also litigated numerous cases for plaintiffs in the areas of personal injury, employment and commercial matters as well as criminal defendants.

Now, with his own practice, James brings all his experiences, knowledge and contacts together to provide legal services, from general counseling to trial, to a broad base of clientele who expect personal attention. 

James is admitted to practice in the State and Federal (Southern and Eastern Districts) Courts of New York.  He is a member of the bar associations of New York State, Nassau County, and Suffolk County. He is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association Assigned Counsel Defender Plan (18B).  He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and New York Law School.

Outside of the office and courtroom, James enjoys time with his wife and four children.  He is an attorney-advisor for Bethpage High School Mock Trial Team, who participates in the New York State Bar, High School Mock Trial Competition.  He is also an active member of St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, the Theodore Roosevelt Republican Club, Bethpage, the Buildings Advisory Committee for Bethpage School District, and PAL Soccer.
